The Upstairs Kitchen Ventilation Project For Tiffin Box
 

Our team embarked on a project to design and install a comprehensive ventilation system for the upstairs kitchen in E1, East London. The heart of the system we installed was a powerful extraction hood, meticulously crafted from stainless steel and measuring an impressive 3,000 mm wide by 1,400mm deep. This robust hood was equipped with high-quality stainless steel baffle filters to effectively capture cooking fumes and grease. To ensure efficient drainage, we incorporated a drain gully and tray within the hood's design.

Above the hood, we strategically positioned a stainless steel plenum box. This crucial component seamlessly connected the extraction duct to the hood itself, optimizing airflow and enhancing overall extraction efficiency.

To facilitate the smooth passage of extracted air, we carefully modified one of the kitchen windows. After removing a window pane, we installed a custom-made window board with a precisely cut opening to accommodate the extraction duct. A bird mesh grille was then fitted to the window opening, ensuring unobstructed airflow while preventing unwanted intrusions.

The extraction ducting itself was meticulously crafted from durable galvanized steel. We connected the hood to the window board using a specialized galvanized steel adapter, ensuring a secure and airtight fit. The ducting was strategically positioned at ceiling level, minimizing visual impact and maximizing space utilization.

To drive the efficient operation of the entire system, we installed a powerful extraction fan within the ceiling-level ducting. This fan was carefully selected to effectively handle the air volume generated by the 3,000mm wide hood.

To provide the user with maximum control and flexibility, we included a user-friendly fan speed controller. This allows the kitchen staff to easily adjust the fan speed to optimally suit varying cooking conditions and ensure a comfortable and well-ventilated kitchen environment.
